It must fall under horror, mystery, thriller, etc. Some romance is good too. I watched Hellsing, Death Note, can't remember the rest. The religious theme could be real or made up, and I'm pretty open to different things.
Please don't include "exorcism mangas".

D. Gray-man. there is a power called Innocence that is granted by god to help kill akuma which are souls that have been trapped into a machine-like being by the Millenium Earl. there are also Noah that are enemies (as in Noah's arc)
*note* even thought hey are called exorcists they don't exorcise, they just kill with their power/weapons Sounds perfect for you. they also dont preach the religion it just used to set the story
