im a new fan of it so there are loads of things that i dont know. like,
1: why mello turn down near's offer to join forces with him?
2: who's matt? mello's best friend?

ok see the way Mello worked and Near worked was different...sort of like Mello couldnt get along well with Near...then he challenged Near...to who will catch Kira first...but later on Mello helps Near one last time...and together with Mello and Near's effort...they surpassed even L
Matt was Mello's close friend, who i guess he met after he left The wammy House(the orphanage)...and joined the bad people n all...Mello considered Matt a close friend
